House League Program Overview

The Applewood Hockey Association House League is the foundation of our hockey program and is open to all players ages 6 to 20, of all skill levels. Whether you have played hockey for the past 10 years or this is your first season, the House League level offers a less competitive environment than the “A” level. The Coaches in House League focus on skills and team development, to respect their peers, understand the game, and have fun.

What does House League hockey offer?

• The regular season starts at the end of October and ends in February, with playoffs going in to March.
• One game per week.
• One practice per week is included for age levels up to U15. Practices for U16 and above are at the discretion of the coach.
• Games against the other 5 associations affiliated with the MHL.
• Each age group is divided into 4 levels depending on experience and / or skill level (Red, White, Blue, & Green). Everyone gets to play on a team.
• During the first 5 - 6 weeks of the season, the MHL has a convening period to ensure each player and team is playing within their skill set.
• Some teams may choose to participate in exhibition games or tournaments against other associations across the GTA and Ontario.
• Jersey and socks are included in the fee.
