“A” and Gold Level Program Overview

Applewood Hockey Association offers a competitive level called “A” hockey. These players are the top skilled players of their respective age group, from U10 to U18.

Gold level teams offer competitive hockey for U8 and U9 age groups.

Throughout the years AHA “A” teams have won various MHL Championships, City Championships and OHF Provincial Championships.

What can “A” and Gold players expect?

• Tryouts for the upcoming season are held in late September.
• Regular season starts at the end of October.
• Teams have two games and one practice per week. Teams generally schedule an extra practice each week.
• Games are against the other 5 MHL Associations.
• Teams enter 3-5 tournaments throughout the season (in Canada and/or the US).
• Two sets of uniforms are included in the fee.
• Tends to require a bigger time and financial commitment than House League.
